Never say never … suddenly there are bouts of connectivity … and then reasons to get excited! So I know I’ve already said goodbye, but … we were so damn impressed with this lodge just a hop, skip and jump outside Twee Rivieren camp in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park that the photos simply HAD to be shared.
We’ve always found Twee Rivieren to be a railway station with its rambunctious campers, incessant 4×4 traffic flow, barking dogs and lowing cattle on the farms nearby, that it’s an utter delight to find something decent, imaginative and downright pleasant!
This is the place to stay in future when you need a night’s rest just before entering Kgalagadi. Just one big red light for vegetarians. The menu featured meat, meat, and … ? Meat. The only thing that had roots and had come from the soil was the lettuce and tomatoes in my Greek salad. Oh, if you’re a fish-eater you could have a go at the mussels. But, I’m afraid for vegetarians … you could try the pizza?
It’s a large complex and the units are lined up on a high slope oh, so serendipitously sited,
facing both sunrise and sunset.
